What is RateTheLeader.com?
A platform where a leader's direct reports rate his or her leadership on 50 questions. After the rating, the leader can buy a detailed report that shows the Red, Orange or Green result and, if Green, earns a badge and certificate.
How does it work?
A rating starts with a team member or the leader. The leader gives consent. The leader's direct reports answer 50 short questions within 21 days. If enough people answer, we let the leader know that he or she has been rated, and the leader can buy the report to see the result.
Why was it created?
To give leaders honest, combined feedback from the people who work with them, and a trusted way to show strong leadership. Strong leadership skills are a key success factor for any career.
Can anyone rate me without my knowing?
No. A leader can only be rated after giving clear consent, and only by his or her own direct reports.
For leaders
Someone asked to rate me. What do I need to do?
You receive an email asking for your consent. Choose "I consent" to begin or "I do not consent" to close the request. Nothing happens unless you agree. Leaders who invite feedback show their team that they are open to growth, and a Green result is a credential you can share.
What if I do not respond?
We send two reminders within 10 days. If there is still no answer, the request closes and you will not be contacted again about it.
What if I say no?
The request closes, and your email address is protected from new requests for 30 days unless you change your mind.
Will I see who rated me?
No. You only see combined results. Question-level detail is shown only when at least 3 people have answered. In a team of 1 or 2, you see only the overall result.
What do the colours mean?
Green means a composite score of 75% or more. Orange means 50% to below 75%. Red means below 50%. A Green result of 90% or more earns a gold-lined badge. Every result is also shown in words, not only colour.
How much does it cost?
Being rated is free. To see your result you buy the detailed report: an investment in your career that is not controlled by your company's HR department and lets you share a verifiable Green status on your CV or social media. The default price is US $89.50; the price in your country may differ.
What do I get when I pay?
Your result, your scores by area, development areas, a peer comparison and a PDF. Green leaders also receive a verifiable badge and a certificate.
When can I be rated again?
Every leader receives a reminder 11 months after the rating. Green leaders get 25% off the rating at 12 months, or 50% if they referred 10 friends who were rated and paid. Orange and Red leaders get 20% off at 12 months, or 50% off a re-evaluation at 6 months after working on their development.
How long does my badge last?
12 months from the rating date.
What does "Rated by 9 of 11 direct reports" mean?
It shows how many of your direct reports rated you. A Green or Gold result needs at least 80% of the direct reports you declared.
What is my secret PIN for?
Recruiters, personnel agents and employers need your member number and your 4-digit PIN to verify your Green badge. You set it when you register and can change it in your profile at any time. Never share it publicly.
